I've used the YNAB software for 2 months now and closed out January with overspending of $18.28 and for February overspending by $12.56. That may not seem too good; but for us, this was huge! We have a $500.00 buffer already in our account! So those overages are nothing!

As an added bonus we paid an extra $340.00 dollars on our RC Willey account. We will have that paid off in March! This is exciting! One step closer to our goals!

I can feel the momentum changing! I closed out February with such a good strong feeling of accomplishment! We're on the road to where we want to go!!

Happy YNABing all!!

Revolutionary Budgeting Software

With our fast-paced life of modern living, we needed budgeting software that was both effective and time saving. I used a popular program; feeling that it was the best out there. But after awhile I threw up my hands in frustration. It was very time consuming to use and rather complicated to figure out how use many of its features. It was also designed more around the idea of accounting for expenses rather than planning for them. That makes a huge difference. I evaluated other software as well; but they all had similar designs.

We were looking for something strongly focused on budget planning. We wanted to allocate funds to specific budget categories every month and have the program keep track from month to month the available funds balance of each category. A computerized version of envelop budgeting, if you will. We needed something that could help us save for large expenses. We realized that would be the only way to pay off our debt and stay out of debt.

We were fortunate enough to discover a program called YNAB. YNAB is the acronym for 'You Need a Budget'. How fitting. I highly recommend this program to everyone. It is well worth the modest expense.
